Tournament Play, World Class Facilities, Training and Education
Face to Face Training
Lectures and workshops will be interactive and highly golf specific to ensure your training is relevant to the golf industry and individually improves the golf performance of the students. Attendance at 80% or more of lectures is a minimum requirement for all students. Lectures and squad practice will be conducted 4 days per week from Monday to Thursday around the tournament schedule. A typical day commences at 8:30am and concludes at 3:30pm.
A strong schedule of 12 x 54 hole tournaments, 2 x 72 hole tournaments and multiple 18 hole and 36 hole matches is scheduled throughout the year. These matches will be a combination of PGA Associate matches and Performance Program matches. The format for these tournaments is strokeplay on a variety of championship courses in Victoria. All tournaments are scheduled between Monday and Wednesday. The tournaments are played in blocks so students can train and develop their game over a period of weeks before testing their game under tournament conditions over a series of weeks.
The program is based at the Sandhurst Club in Melbourne, Victoria. All squad practice, lessons and lectures will be at the Sandhurst Club. PGA Associate matches will be at selected venues around metropolitan Melbourne and occasionally country Victoria. The Sandhurst Club includes 36 holes of championship golf with a 270m practice fairway, short game area with bunkers and two large putting greens. The Sandhurst Club has hosted numerous PGA events such as the Victorian PGA Championship and Stage 1 of the PGA Tour of Australasia Qualifying School.
