PGA Golf Performance Program

Based at the PGA Academy at the Sandhurst Club in Victoria, the PGA Performance Program & Certificate III in Sport (Athlete) is ideal for students looking to take the next step in their careers, preparing them to thrive both on and off the course.

The program has a number of specific outcomes available for graduates including;

  • Eligibility for Recognition For Prior Learning (RPL) towards Stage 2 PGA Core Competencies of the Membership Pathway Program (subject to golf and academic performance)
  • Employment opportunities in the golf industry
  • Preparation for future tournament play in amateur and professional events

Face to Face Training

Squad practice will be conducted 4 days per week from Monday to Thursday. A typical day commences at 9:00am and concludes at 3:00pm. The majority of the day is spent practicing and improving skill areas of driving, approach play, short game and putting. Golf specific content around tactics, decision making and statistical analysis will also be delivered throughout the program.

 

Training Venue

The program is based at the Sandhurst Club in Melbourne, Victoria. All squad practice, lessons and lectures will be at the Sandhurst Club. The Sandhurst Club includes 36 holes of championship golf with a 270m practice fairway, short game area with bunkers and two large putting greens. The Sandhurst Club has hosted numerous PGA events such as the Victorian PGA Championship and Stage 1 of the PGA Tour of Australasia Qualifying School. Students will also train in the PGA Academy – Indoor Golf Centre. A state of the art coaching and training facility featuring Trackman technology.

Intake Dates

There will be two (2) intake dates for the Golf Performance Program in 2025.

2025 Dates

Intake 1

Tuesday January 28th 2025, program finishing in December 2025

Intake 2

Tuesday April 22nd 2025, program finishing in March 2026.

 

Entry Requirements

All applicants for the program must be a minimum of 18-years-old at the commencement of the program. Additionally, to qualify for the program, it is a PGA requirement that applicants have a GA golf handicap of 9 or less. The Golf Performance Program is open to both domestic and international students.
